All of Anahata’s teachers are committed to their personal practice and continuing to grow as teachers. They are excited to share their knowledge of yoga, learn from their students and support the growth of Homer’s yoga community.

Alayne has been a teacher and a student for as long as she can remember. She has taught art, skiing, and yoga in a variety of settings, and enjoys connecting people with their own expressions of body, mind, and spirit. A practicing yoga student since the age of 13, yoga has been a major vehicle in Alayne’s personal growth. In May of 2011, she trained with the Shambhava School of Yoga in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii to teach yoga and to facilitate a graceful journey to the inner self. She is over-joyed to share the experience with students.

Ja’hnie Triplett
Yoga was was first introduced to me in High school by Stephanie, I loved how grounded and connected I felt and was inspired to learn more to be able to share that experience with others. In the fall of 2011 I earned my teacher training atThe Sivananda Center in Vrindavan, India with an emphasis on traditional Hatha yoga and meditation under the mentorship of Swami Durgananda and Swami Krishnadevananda.
Being raised in Homer has given me a great appreciation of nature and a close knit community, it brings me great joy to share my practice with others.
Ja’hnie teaches Hatha Blend Tuesdays 6-7:15 pm and Gentle Hatha Thursdays 6-7:15 pm.
Stephanie Dickerson
Stephanie is the founder, owner and operator of Anahata in Homer, Alaska where she practices Ayurveda, Massage, and teaches yoga. Stephanie grew up learning about Ayurveda and Yoga from her Dad, Richard Haynes who has an Ayurvedic Center in Portland, OR.
She began studying yoga seriously in college, beginning with Iyengar and Ashtanga, soon finding Anusara Yoga and a wonderful personal teacher in Sarahjoy Marsh. Countless hours of personal study and practice, workshops with the likes of Douglas Keller, John Friend, Chris Coniaris, Desiree Rumbaugh, Denise Benitez and more provided an in-depth understanding of Anusara Yoga and beyond. She has been deeply inspired by Sarahjoy’s ability to transcend the limitations of teaching a certain style, and incorporate the psychology of yoga into all of her teaching. Stephanie is also very grateful to Todd Williamson for his teaching, in particular his introduction of the more subtle practices of Laya and Yin Yoga. She has also studied with many other teachers including, Dr. Mary Jo Cravatta, and Dr. John Douillard.
“I am profoundly grateful for the knowledge of Ayurveda and Yoga, which has kept me knowing that health, happiness and love are not only possible, but actually my birthright. It is my greatest honor and joy to share this wisdom.”
Kenton Bloom
Kenton has practiced yoga for over 25 years, teaching for almost 10 of those. Lynne Minton was an exceptional influence as a teacher and mentor to his practice and teaching. Kenton has continued training with numerous teachers, most recently Ana Costa of Brazil.
Teaching at Anahata is a dream come true for Kenton, one that began in 1989 when he began construction on the structure. As landlord, what better tenant than a yoga studio.
Kenton offers private ‘Yoga for Men’ classes as well as general private yoga instruction.
